Facts and Figures

  • In 2010, Seasons of Change was one of six recipients chosen to receive the THAI grant.
  • Target areas for SOC programs are Dallas and Tarrant counties.
  • The two counties served by Seasons of Change are highly urban and have higher percentages of African American population than average Texas counties.
  • Since inception, Seasons of Change has brought community stakeholders together, reduced risky behavior among youth participants and provided social support and practical services to local families.
  • SOC’s annual youth summit grew from serving 319 families in 2001 to over 1500 in 2012.
  • Over 2500 youth are involved annually in Thai sponsored programs and activities.
  • Youth involved in Seasons of Change activities are 60% black and 30% Hispanic.
  • SOC’s target area of people under 18: Dallas County 27% and Tarrant County 27.8%
